will a 84 200E with the high low gear box fit into the 84 200X frame or is the gearbox selector on the side to big?

82-83 200E or 84 200ES, because there is no way the 84 200es engine will fit in the 200x frame. But I'm not sure for the 82-83 200E.

the 200E
I know the 200ES won't because it is shaft drive but the 200E has the high low lever on the side and I am not sure if it will clear the 200X frame but I don't want to buy the motor if I can't use it

The 200e will be a challenge, because of the electric starter. It would be 10 times easier to run the simple 185/200s engine, because they allow a lot more room. However, I HAVE seen a guy put the 200e motor in a 200x chassis, but he didnt have the front motor mounts quite right, and they would definatly need some sort of modification (using 200x mounts). The 200e motor seemed to almost sit crooked in the front, because the starter touches the frame. If it were me, I would recomend the 185/200s motor, because they come a dime a dozen, and are just that much easier.
By the way, did you ever get that DX together? Take it easy, Jon.
