    1986 200x Value in Ohio

Never in a million years did I ever think I would be willing to part with this one... but it sits around like a piece of furniture more often than not, and found another trike (250ES) that would fit my needs a little more. When I need to go fast, I hop on the four legged contraption behind the 200X in the picture.
Since I have been out of the scene for a while... what are the second gen 200x's going for these days in nice shape? Here is a picture of here a few years ago before I finished it. (the frame is original paint, just went through everything including motor that needed attention).

I dont know if I should sell, or sit on it a while. Its not museum quality, but the nicest that I have personally seen. Is it worth selling now, or is the trike market not the greatest. I've seen a couple on ebay, but cant really guage mine off of what Ive seen lately.

Like I said, it wasnt finished in this picture- quite a few details were left to be completed in the pic... but the condition is the same. It is a low hour 86 that I bought off of an older guy that used it as a pit trike.

Sorry, but a little off topic.....
I like that rear fender. I just bought an 85 200x, and the Maier is a defferent style. Did they have different fenders from 85 to 86?

Well considering Ohio is a HOTBED for 3wheeled racing, and the junkyards are picked pretty much clean. I would say post up finished pics; but the Stud just under value but real close. $700 would be a great buy....the right buyer might bring just over the $1000 mark. You would need the headlight, stock pipe, and any stock extras(beat plastic included)...and note the aftermarket or any over stock extras. You just can't find em' in Ohio, so shipping becomes a factor when buying them cheaper from other states. Goodluck

Still a buyers market from what I can guess. If I couldnt do better than 500-700 bucks, I'll drain it and put it in the basement. I'm not a guy who thinks his stuff is worth gold, but at that money I would be beyond insulted. But heck, if thats the going rate- well then thats the going rate. I will try to post some pictures up later on, I really should have a couple years ago when I finished it.
I know that O.E.M. sells, to the collector. I built this one for me, I knew that if I went to the extent to make this a complete OEM restore (which is what I didnt want), that I wouldnt ride it. Ended up not riding it much anyway. Looking back, I wouldnt change a thing on it. I took it (and my 84) to TF09. I only took my 84 to TF08.

Wow! I like it. Maybe I'm biased, but I'd say it should be in the $1000 to $1500 range. One sold on ebay not long ago for $2000 - it didn't look $1200 better than this one. I personally wouldn't sell for less than $1000....but that's me.

I'm on the same page as you, and not because its mine. But I have been out of the loop for a little while. I'm not crazy about getting rid of it, but the 250ES I just bought is very nice, and will fit my needs better. I told my wife it may end up staying here, and will just have the both of them. I am checking out a couple on ebay, and will see what they end up doing.
I HATE selling local on CL on something like this. Parts, stuff like that is ok... but the bikes and trikes bring out some dandies at times, that have no intention of buying anything. Is what it is though, I do like the fees on Craigslist better than ebay haha.

Try out ebay classifieds - free to list and sell. Results only show up for people within 200 miles of you. Works like craigslist but less BS/tire kickers/deadbeats/low ballers - at least that has been my experience.
