When we had the farm, we had a white lab. She was 13 when she died. She had somesort of cancer that dogs get. I woke up one morining and she was on the dining room floor dead. Well at least she died with no pain. (I'm pretty sure she was sleeping when she died) That sucked. Then we had another white lab, a couple years ago get hit by a truck. The basterd that hit her didn't even stop, just kept on going. The vet had to put her to sleep while we were on vacation in Va. Losing a pet sucks!!! :x :x :x

Every dam thing I ever love dies. So I decided a long time ago that fish were the best substitute for a furry friend. I can flush a fish without so much as a sniffle.

Then muddytrikegirl finds 3 - 1 week old kittens who's mother got killed by a car. Guess who fed them with eyedroppers. I hope they'll live a loooooooong time.....

Well...my dog of 10 years just died yesterday afternoon. I remember the first day I saw him, he was at the pounded with about 5 brothers and sisters, and he stood out because he had stand up ears and the rest had floppy ears, I played with that dog at the pound, dad knew I loved him and easter was right around the corner, so the day before Easter dad comes rolling up from work, and like I always did I went out to greet him, and I saw that lil mutt and I went crazy with joy(what do you expect, I was 5) dad opened the door, and the dog bit me( I musta done something he didn't) like...he was the best friend in the world to me, and we grew up together...just last night I tried to pick him up before he died and bring him to say goodbye to his girlfriend(a horse) and he bit me then too. So it's kinda like a hello and goodbye to him. He and I had one hell of a time growing up, though he never did understand commands, all that dog knew was his name, and his family. I loved him though, I remember one time he and I almost got shot by my dad, we went sleepwalking at night and dad thought someone was trying to rob us...man that dog would've followed me to hell and back....funny thing about his death tho, in a matter of 3 days he stopped eating, got real skinny, and died....kinda strange to me. Oh well...

    yeah, lost our shepard tonight

Diagnosed with cancer 7 or so weeks ago and put up a heck of a courageous fight, right up till this morning.
Several board members recently met Max, others from here in past visits met Max.
Honestly you would have not even known he was sick, unless we said he was, and we knew he was from actions and weight loss from a solid 115 to a recent 75 pounds.
Heard tell from a few friends that have stopped by when we was not around that he truly did what was expected of him ~ guard the house.
These are the same friends that when over with us around Max is all over them with tail wagging wanting petted.
Many darn good memories of him + I getting a little tipsy drinking together to out right wrestling in the kitchen or yard. Chasing me around in the yard on a trike to sneaking off with wrenches or parts,,,,
Definitely got checked out early at just about 6 years old.
Gonna be burying him at first light tomorrow, dam.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It's easier to be closer to your pets then other people so often as pets don't come with all the bs that alot of people do.

John that's crazy! So sorry to read man. Just met him a week ago or so like you mentioned, would never have guessed he was ready to go. Lively, and energetic is what I saw. RIP Max. He was a COOL dog!
