I live in orchard park NY which is by Buffalo so we get plenty of snow. I'm wondering how 3 wheelers are in the snow? What kind of studs or screws have ppl used? The tires on my yt125 are like 22x11.

Trikes are a blast in snow. They do fine on hard pack and can handle powder if its not too deep. Studs are for ice. Once you hit dirt with them, they dull quickly. All you need are aggressive knobbies. They do better than 2wd quads.
OK cool. I have an extra set of rims/tires with decent tread so I was gonna get studs for them but I will save the money for something else. Thanks guys
im gonna try running my paddles this winter lol, they're no good for anything else up here and if i ever make it to the dunes a new set will be purchased.

I feel like it's gonna be awesome in snow. I can't wait till this winter. Makes sliding easier and the front end is lighter than a quad.
I want to make a ski for the front. My friend has a welder and I was thinking two snowmobile skis side by side might work. I would make a bracket to attach the skis to the forks. But it might turn likeso the only way to find out is to build it and try it. I have yt175 forks on my yt125.
Scootertrash has a ski on the front of his, i think i remember reading a thread about it. ill try finding it later unless someone else does

In my head, a ski would not work without some sort of fin or rudder on the bottom. Snow skis works by carving on their edges, so a flat ski just skids.
Winter is one of my favorite times to ride. I take one of my utility trikes and they have never let me down. This last winter it plowed through over 1ft of snow, negative temperatures, I even took it camping and woke up to an additional 6" of snow at 4am and it got me out of some sticky situations where my buddies SUV got stuck. I love taking it slow, enjoying the view and looking for animal tracks and planning my future hunts.
Or buy a yeti kit!

I do recommend richening up your fuel air mix as trikes run leaner in the winter, because the frozen air causes hotter combustion.
rectum nothin damn near killed them

That yeti kit is pretty slick
Riding in the snow is a blast, I need new tires on mine, but even with 18" square knobs it handled the recent South Dakota snow just fine. It's not gonna be as good as a 4WD 4 wheeler, but they'll get through a lot.

Buy some maxxis 4 snows, unbelievable grip in the snow!
I think O.P might have a little too much snow right now for that YT.
