You are the one that said you are a good person, so if you make a statement you should be able to tell us by what measure you make that statement by. That's a pretty simple question, isn't it?

No, there has to be a standard by what you measure how good of person you are, what is it? You are dancing around the simple question.

By what measure do you use to say that you are a good person?

i dont know about everyone else, but i will answer this one as a non-christian

I have a conscience. It was developed over time by doing things and seeing how it effected myself and others. Things that i did that negatively effected other people despite how my outcome was made me feel badly. thus my conscience developed to automatically judge outcomes of decisions before i made them. I deem myself a good person when i follow my conscience, which i rarely deviate from. I still find times in life when i must ignore my conscience and do things solely to improve my own situation, but nothing that is so terrible that makes my conscience hurt.

i learned right and wrong from my parents. they did not have to use god or satan, heaven or hell, to teach me right from wrong. yes you can teach a 5 year old to believe in imaginary friends and get him to believe in god because its a lot easier to explain existence to a 5 year old by saying some powerful being made everyone and everything and we thank him daily for doing so than to explain the big bang, evolution, and the history of the planet. its a much neater package thats easier to deliver and it makes disipline easier when you tell them god (and this time of year, santa) is always watching.

i for one hope that god doesnt see everything, i like to jerk off sometimes and that would be just creepy lol

i dont steal and i dont rip people off and i dont intentionally hurt anyone. i consider myself a good person and dont need anyone telling me im not a good person because i didnt accept jesus as my personal savior. I have plenty of real people to thank for the person i have become.

You do realize how asinine that seems to all non-born again people, right? The concept is no different than getting someone else to take a test for you, or using a cheater engine to win a race, but it sure is a great way to get a bunch of people who have either been bad, or told they are bad to step up and join the Christ club.

Yes I understand how crazy everything I talk about sounds to the unbeliever. Like I said I always believe I would go to heaven because deep down I had a good heart. This let your conscience be your guild doesn't quite work. Your conscience get less and less convicting as we sin more in one way or the other. One person says he's a good person but he hides his porn from his wife and kids. Why hide it if there is nothing wrong with it. That might not have been the best subject to use on here. lol I'm sure I'll hear about that! So one person feels it's OK to come in late to work and leave early but doesn't think it's steeling. I could go on and on but the point is there is no standard to base how good you are. God says it very plain, there are none that do good, no not one!
