IDK about that…from a studio perspective especially…and as for talent, it's just a matter of taste…and BOTH genres have their fair share of rubbish to answer for...but I believe your guy in the video would fall more into the Hip-hop category. I like his message and he has a really good flow/style. I've been told more than once that I'm weird because I had Tribe and Outkast albums next to Hank and Brooks n Dunn next to Pantera and Slayer next to Miles and Herbie next to Rancid and the Misfits etc. I think it's good to be well-rounded and enjoy the good stuff from all genres...

And he's probably called an Uncle Tom by people who like this music. I could be wrong, I'm not really familiar with it. But assuming I'm right, you're probably comparison this well though out song to the crap that is played on FM hit country stations across the US. And for that, your argument is flawed. The crap on the radio isn't what I think is "country", just as much as I don't think this is "rap". When I think of rap I think of that moron Kanye. After re-reading it, no, it's just me I like some of his stuff, but I still see him as the guy from the Sesame street song "One of these this does not belong" when it comes to rap. Given a choice I'll take Will Smith over most of what's out there.
