I thought I would give you some progression pics.
First one, is my R when I got it a year and 1/2 ago. Twisted forks, hosed carb, beat down plastics, stock pipe, wrong headlight assy. She needed some massive lovin, and thats exactly what I gave to it.
The 2nd pic was my R as of the middle of last summer. The correct plastic, cosmetic upgrades (a lot of Ronnie's bling), PJ36 mm carb, ESR pipe (thank you Sprock!), new tires.
I was happy with it, it ran great. It was lookin good, but I wanted to go a step further. So, thanks to MyMistress86R. He hooked me up with a +3 86 swing arm and custom skid plate. The time has come to update the 85 rear end to the 86.
I managed to round up parts for the upgrade, for next to nothing.
A friend hooked me up with some free powder coating of the swing arm and skid plate.
These upgrades include:
chrome RPM Dominator +4 axle w/ billet sprocket hub, LSR billet dual row carrier, new braided brake line, new D.I.D. chain, new sprockets, new 86 powder coated brake bracket, and some of Xsystem's swing arm bushings![]()
I didn't want the gold wheels anymore, so with the help of a good friend, I was hooked up with a mint 350x front wheel with a 23" Ohtsu, to help the handling. Then I scored some ITP rear wheels with 18" Holeshots.
I love to ride my bikes, and I love to work on them. In the past, I have done my own brakes, bearings, oli changes, normal maintenance, etc. But I wanted to under take this project by myself. I was able to do 95% of it on my own. There were a few spots I had to have Mosh help me out.
Thanks to everybody that helped us out with the parts.
p.s. don't mind the rusty sprocket bolts. I got some new blingers on order. I'm also going to be sending out some other items for powder coat, like my foot pegs and brake pedal.
