Nice job so far, that looks like it is very well done. I'm sure it will make a nice ride, or atleast something to talk about in the corner of the garage, TC...

84 hubs on what looks to be an extended 86 axle. JP or Finishline made axles for the 86 T3 that used the 84/85 splines so the smaller bolt pattern could be used, all to allow 8 inch rims.

Hmmm Interesting, it may be an '86 axle! I know its a lot wider than a stock '84. I'll measure tomarrow. Thanks!!

It very well could be someone put an 84 axle and carrier on the 86. It would bolt right up.

The oem stickers on that new plastic make it that much more rare/valuable. Is this going to be a show bike? If not I would sell the plastic on ebay and get some maier skins. That NOS plastic set would command a high price.

Yeah I thought about that, but this is a project that has been on my mind since 1998, I've been collecting, and plotting for years, and it would kind of break my heart to not see it all come together, ya know!

I put a WTB on the classified section for a '86 carrier, and hubs......so we'll see what happens. Kinda thinkin maybe I should run the honda setup, but I kinda want to see how she'll run before I spend even more money.

    Update

Hey all, here's a quick update. So the 250R subframe wasn't cooperating with the tecate plastic, so on to plan B. I cut the honda subframe off, and used the top part of the original tecate subframe, the 250R support braces......

Here the plastic is mounted, does it look like the rear end stink bugs? It looks a little high to me, I may just be over sensative. I have looked at tons of pics, and can't decide, Tecate boys?.........

    Next steps.....
    1. Make front and top engine mounts out of 1/4 inch strip aluminum stock

    2. Have custom exhaust made

    3. figure out a chain slider to use

    4. Have cylinder ported, and plated by MaxPower/RPM's

    5. Start it up

    6. ride it, if I like it on to step 7

    7. Dissassemble and powder coat frame and what not. make frankenbike pretty!

I'm trying to decide what color the frame, swingarm, and engine should be, and I was hoping on you all giving my some input.

I dont know who's T3 this is but it has been my inspiration.
