Hello I just picked up what I believe is a 83 ytm 200.
Fixed the recoil, cleaned tank and carb. Checked timing valve clearance, good spark. I can not get this thing to fire.
i push started once and got one lap around the yard. Now my driveway is to slippery I cant push start. Plug is wet, good suction with hand over carb. When I hold the throttle open it doesn't want to pull over very easy. Also the cable for the starter plunger is a little sticky but seems to work.
I've never seen a starter plunger set up, I use to chokes, am I missing something? I do not have the right adapter for my compression tester. But I had it running and did a lap so I'm am lost on what to try next. I am going to get a longer pull rope as well had to cut it a little when i rebuild it, maybe I'm not getting enough revolutions.
Thanks for any help. I also could use a new drum sheave for the pull start has anyone tried installing a bushing into one of these?

Put it in high gear when you pull start it or push less torque on the wheels. But sounds like a carb issue. Make sure your on switch is on, and your plug hooked up. I'd get mad when I forget.

Well I'm kinda passed and very happy. The choke cable it a little worst for wear or needs adjustment. I thought I had it all the way but after much frustration I pulled it and in move about an additional 3/4". Then it started right up.
Anyone know if there is an adjustment on the cable

There should be an adjustment on the cable

Download a manual. They can help explain it. I would download the factory 200 manual or the clymer manual.
