I have a 95 Polaris 300 4x4 xplorer. Its still a work in progress, but coming a long. I'm not sure how much I could help but who knows. This is what I hope it will look like.. 3Le3F73J75N35J45R3caedff4f597aa001efc.jpg

Well I need pics of the front brakes and how they operate. Also, I cannot find the reservoir for the rears brake caliper. Also, if you were to unbolt the two head stay bolts by the intake manifold is there a decent amount of play in the motor?

I will take a look at mine and see what I can find. Can it wait till the weekend? I am also on the polaris forum, I just started there. Here's the link. http://www.polarisatvforums.com/
I also downloaded the manual for it on my laptop. Was only $5. I have not had the head pipe off to check piston play. That is what you are asking? I would assume that would be a bad connecting rod bearing or wrist pin. Or piston.

I will check out the play or movement of the motor without that mounting. Mine isn't running yet. It needed a voltage regulator to cure a no spark condition. It needs a battery and at least one front tire due to dry rot. It will aslo need the seat recovered but that isn't my major priority.

Stud-
Is it a 350L? I've got one I'm working on too.
Engine movement: Yea, it's going to move around quite a bit if you unbolt the top mounts. The motor mounts are just 2 steel studs welded to separate plates encased in rubber, just like the top one. Depending on the mileage or hours they could be worn and need replacement, but there still is a decent amount of play if any of the mounts are unbolted. The bottom mounts are one at the bottom front center of the motor and the other is on the lower left rear of the motor behind the clutch cover(s). To get to the lower rear mount I believe you'll have to remove the outer cover, both clutches and the belt and then the inside cover
The rear brake fluid is supplied by the reservoir on the handle bar for the front brakes. There is a "T" below the bars and in front of the gas tank inside the front frame. Try following the brake line down from the reservoir.
Hope this helps a little.![]()

There is no hand brake lever on the handle bars? There should be a brake lever/reservoir combo on the left handle bar like on a 350X or 250R. Yea, there should be front brakes. Disc type.
I'll post a pic of mine in a bit. I'm eatin lunch right now, but I'll be out there shortly.

Front brake lever/reservoir:

Front left caliper:

Brake line "T" or splice (red arrow) Looking up under the frame from the left front wheel well

Be VERY CAREFUL if you start trying to loosen the bleeder screw to bleed the system. They are a very small diameter and the break off really easy. Don't even look at them wrong!!
