Here's the cheapest correct battery. http://www.ebay.com/itm/YTX12-BS-AGM...feeba3&vxp=mtr

Bikes should be charging around 14.3-6 while running, before rectifier. Sounds like your getting things in order! Hope all is well

I bought the cheap ebay gel battery for my Red at the beginning of summer. It came charged and I have had zero complaints about it so far. Lately the price of tires and batteries have blown my mind.

    gel batteries are awesome!!!
the reason why batteries have dropped is there is a new technology called dry cell. it weighs like 2 lbs for battery compared to a 12lb one you see listed. also dry cell batteries can be mounted at any angle and have a much longer storage life.

Thats not a bad price. I paid about twice that for a ETX15 Big Crank battery for my 200ES. I had wet cell batteries in it before this one, they lasted maybe a year. The winter always seemed to kill them off. This gel cell ETX15 is a heck of a battery. Today at 17F (-8C) it spun her over like it was a warm spring day. Last winter i usually had to toss on my extra battery, consists of a deep cycle marine battery in a battery box which added weight for plowing but also extra cranking amps for the cold, but i don't think it will need that battery this year.

Thankfully she has a shed of her own with an outlet this winter, so its plugged into a battery maintainer 24/7 to keep it trickled all year round, thats the best way to treat a gel cell battery. Look at UPS systems for example, they use gel cells that are constantly floated also. I have some industrial gel cell batteries here under the workbench that came out of an industrial UPS in a manufacturing plant, they are dated 2006 and were removed from service in 2008. Five years later and they are still full capacity and running my UPS.

Exactly what I bought. I'll never buy another battery from Wally World. They wanted $40 for a tiny battery for my daughter's Polaris Scrambler. I got one on eBay for $20.
