    Identify unknown rear axle

Need help to identify an unknown rear axle. I needed an axle for a ’86 TRX250R and a friend gave me an axle he thought was for a TRX250R as it used the same drive sprocket. The attached pic’s show several known axles, bottom ’85 350x, ’89 TRX250R, ’02 TRX400EX and the top one is the unknown. The unknown axle splines fit the 200x (right) or 400ex (left) hubs. Also looks like the unknown axle would fit the same carrier assembly width as the 350x. Would like to tell him what it fits when I return it.

Thanks guys for the feed back, none of my buddies have a 300ex so unable to look at and compare. What little info I've picked up appears to lead towards 300ex. Funny thing is my buddy doesn't remember where it came from either, had it for sometime now picking up dust....

250x and 300ex and 300x are all the same axle. 250x shaft driven well that's different.
