Will an ATC70 fit in a Focus?

Well I picked up my second ATC70 in a week yesterday. This one is much, much nicer than the first. Sorry about the crappy camera phone pic.
My first one is ok but missing, brake lever, handle bar plastic, grab bar and a few other small probs. I can't seem to keep that one running. I haven't spent a bunch of time on it but I can get it to run for about 20 seconds then it runs out of fuel, it dies if I tough the throttle. The carb is clean too. It's kind hard to tell if fuel is gettting into the bowl the way the petcock is. I paid $80 for that one.
This second one I picked up yesterday off our company bulletin board, I paid $180 for this one but it was well worth it. As you can see it has the sticker on back along with a lot of other frame stickers still intact, it even had the spark plug wrech still attached but the gas tank leaks on this one. I haven't messed with it yet but I'll prob put my tank on the second one. All the paint on the frame and wheels is great, no rust!
And my buddy has another parts ATC70 and a pretty nice one with Cobra exhaust that he wants to sell so I may pick those up as well, probably at least the parts bike for sure.

Well two ATC70s will also fit in a Focus! Unreal. And I got 32 MPG while hauling two 3-wheelers. What other vehicle can make that claim! I got these on ebay for $61 then used a 10% coupon ebay sent me then paid which my Discover card (cash back bonus) through paypal. So after all that I paid $53 for them. I got 5 good tires out of the deal which is pretty huge for me since they always seem to need tires. I haven't messed with them yet but the one supposedly ran and I should get it going no problem. Its missing the pull starter and I thought I had a spare but my spare isn't deep enough. The recoil cage bottoms in the recoil before its against the mounting surface of the enigne. Anyone know whats up with that?

I am pretty sure the 1973-1974 atc70 recoils are different than the newer ones. So I have a feeling this could be the problem?

nice score and will agree with stud, you've got a great start for what you've paid.
for the pullstart, if it's the narrow pull start it's for a 1st gen 70 (73-74). you could make a decent profit off it or get/make a spacer and use it on your 2nd gen 70.

some say 3 or more is an addiction, but with these little guys only 2 is needed and then the race is on.

You might be on to something there. I'm pretty sure this recoil came with a 1979 ATC70 but the seller did have some 73/74 parts or bikes or something. Actually it was Tyler54 off this board, this was probably in 2004 or 2005. I wonder if I could trade this for a 78/85 part. I'm sure the 73/74 is much harder to find.

The picture doesn't really do justice to the amount of parts that were in there. Three frames, engine, bottom end, tubs of parts, rear wheels and tires, swing arms, 3 sets for forks, etc.

Wow, really? So it is the correct recoil for the 79 then. So would I just need to swap the flywheel cover from the 79 to the 84 or maybe I should just fix the 79? I'd rather have the 4 speed though.
