it was only 160 bucks, runs and shifts great, no rear fenders, no seat, no brakes of course. here the deal, the swingarm bearings are GONE! This trike litterally "rocks." heres my question, the driveshaft has alot of play in it, pulled the boot back, not real happy about that. I have a 250ES frame and swingarm. can I use the driveshaft from the 250ES?
not the last question about this project......!!

Driveshafts are different, replace the swinger bearings. Not a tough job. If the end of the driveshaft that goes into the diff is rusty and grooved, you'll be moving into the rebuild of the rear diff. A clean driveshaft will only be ruined going into that old pinion seal. Not to hard but requires some special tools that can be made. Look at "The curious case of Jim's SX" thread.

Not hard, just a little time consuming.

To replace the boot you need to remove the swing arm. There is a swing arm pivot bolt on the right side of the frame, it's covered by a plastic cap. You will have to remove it before you can remove the pivot bolt. Start flooding it now with penetrating oil. There is a special tool required, but you can also get it with a drift punch---you just have to be very careful. Then remove the pivot bolt with a 17MM hex socket(allen wrench). While your in there that deep I'd do the swing arm bearings as well. ANd obviously you'll have to remove the brake lines, vent tubes and shock.
