i need some input on how to tune the carb on my 83 185s, it idles high when in neutral but when in gear it is fine, any suggestions?

Because when it;s in gear there is a load on it, therefore, it will idle lower. There should be an idle adjustment screw on the side of the carb. Also, this belongs in TRIKESYLVANIA.

There are shop manuals under the 'world class help' section,
and the 'trikesylvania' area gets Tons more 'fix it' traffic.

thanks for the input guys, it doesnt matter what i do with the idle adjustment screw it slowly revs higher and higher in neutral

Make sure your throttle cable moves freely and it's routed in its proper place. Too much tension on the cable will cause the machine to rev. Does it rev more when you turn the handlebars?
