Stock pilot (48) with a 162 main currently. Running 32-1 with 91 octane and ipone synthetic oil. any help would be great i love this ol honda so much. Im 17. your on and off the throttle way to much .. too much hurky jerky going on... i would go down on the pilot one size and drop the needle one notch.. and try to be alot smother on the throttle .....

Yeah you're really tweaking out on the throttle. Also did you give the bike time to warm up? A lot of riders like to let the bike idle away for a couple of minutes so it can warm up.

Sounds like your jetting is a bit rich, maybe by one or two jets and it's loading up on you. I would try one jet size smaller on both the main and pilot, then do a plug chop.

what am I looking for in a plug chop? That's where I actually cut the plug in half right? When I do check the plug the regular way its black and wet. I am using a iridium plug cross referenced with what Honda recommends as a br8es non iridium. The machine had been running for 30 mins prior to this being filmed

I think it's about a 2mm wide copper ring at the base of the white ceramic cylinder in the middle. I think the electrode on the tip also is a decent indicator (a nice dark-ish copper color).

I concur with previous recommendations, sounds a bit rich on the pilot jet and slide needle to me. Possibly rich on the main too, but try stepping the pilot down one size and run it. If still rich in midrange, then drop the needle one position. If still acting like that, (which I doubt it will) step the main down 1 size. Make these adjustments one component at a time so you can zero in on the problem area of the throttle range.

Sorry but i do not see anywhere in the video that he was on the throttle long enough to even think about changing the main jet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
