I'm not gonna do the headlight now, I think I might do it later on, but for now I'm going to buy a number plate for it, to cover everything up.

Good luck! I am trying to remember who the guy is that posted pics of his a while back. I wish I still had my DR to do that conversion cause it looked sweet!

The steering should be pretty good, my dx turn great with trail pros on it, I'm guessing your bearclaws have like to much grip which makes it hard to turn?

And I also have stock front tire on mine.

That's how I found out about it, it just looked so cool, I really wanted to do it, but then I wrecked my dx and had a good reason to do it :)

I ran GBC Gators on my DR and didn't have any problems turning.

Hey guys, I was just lookin at the bearings they sent me, and I'm not sure if their the right ones? Can someone please help me out with this, and does anyone have like a diagram of where they go. Any help would be very much appriciated.

your gonna find that it is not a direct bolt on. you'll have issues with the bearing on the bottom side............

That is the Tri Z set. You should have gotten the races also. The washers are the dust seals. First make sure you knocked out the old races. Then install new races taper side first. Put the large dust seal on stem of lower triple then slide the larger bearing (Tapered side up) on. Best to put the triple in the freezer for a few hours it will make putting the bearing on so much easier. Once you have lower bearing seated then slide the lower triple in and install the smaller bearing (tapered side down) in the top of the neck and place dust seal on top then close off with you cap and nut. Just did this a week or so ago. Getting the old lower race out was the hardest part of the whole process.

Good luck with your swap I think it is a great idea and hope it is just as easy as it sounds.

Update!

So today I got everything I needed and headed to my shed.

Everything went good, the worst part was trying to get the front end together  I had never messed with anything like that, I couldn't figure out how to get the front axle all together, and after the 5th try I got it all together and good, then came mounting it to the stem, but after a little thinking I got it all together just had to get a big washer between the top bearing and the screw thing with all those edges. Anyway enough talking more pics, sorry to say this but I only got a couple pics after it was done, I still gotta get a number plate and handlebars and some other little things. Sorry for the messy shed :p

the bottom just about fit in, with the tri z bearing, so i just left it in. but the only thing that i had to do was keep my top bearing from my dx and put a spacer between the bearing and the screw thing

not trying to threadjack, but will a 200x outrun one of these? stock-stock comparison

ColtonGG33
07-31-2013, 10:30 PM
From what I heard is that the 200x has a bit faster take off but the 225dx will beat it with the top speed. A while ago a guy had a thread where he raced a bunch of trikes and the 2 he raced was the x vs the dx and and I though the x was in a win because how fast its take off was, but the dx beat it at the end

the bottom just about fit in, with the tri z bearing, so i just left it in. but the only thing that i had to do was keep my top bearing from my dx and put a spacer between the bearing and the screw thing

So the bottom bearing is for a TRI-Z and the top Bearing is the one from the YTM? why did you have to use a big washer between the bearing and the nut? the tri-z stem wasn't threaded down enough? also, the YTM bearing fit nice and snug on the TRI-Z stem like it did on the YTM Stem or was there any sort of space or play in it? Thanks for any info...

One more thing... I think you told me once the forks make the front end come off the ground very easy now, have you found out a way to stop that or to calm it down?

Slide those forks up in the three about an inch and a half, I betcha it'll handle a lot of better and not be so wheelie happy.

I thought about that but I think the handlebars will be in the way.
