I just picked up an 85 250sx and its all new to me. I started with 2 82 185s' and it is a big change. I took off the carb (a pain) and cleaned it really well, but it seems like there is still a problem with the fuel supply. I also put on new fuel line. The choke cable was almost locked up in the carb but i got it out. I cleaned it as best I could (Is this a normal problem with the choke jet getting stuck?). The shifter sticks from time to time, but even with the shotty carb, it will still scoot, but not idle right. I'm looking for any tips on these bikes. I have wanted one for a while and finally found a steal, now I have to learn up on it. Thanks.

Congrats on the new SX, they are a great trike. Use the search box and type 250 sx, there are tons of great threads on here pertaining to the SX. The shifter sticking could be the dreaded broken, or backed off shift pin. That's a pretty easy fix, if it turns out to be the issue.
Btw, do you have any pics you could post up?

Dream machines.
I like mine with flatter profile tires and Racks.
Check the gear oil in the rear axle.
It's only 3 POINT 3 oz so it wants every drop.
click on:
service manual
for a real treat.
Orig owners manuals are fun too.

I have 2. They are nice machines..I never had trouble with the gears so cant help much there. Check the oil in the rear end and engine. Check your gas tank petcock it could be leaking or plugged if your tank is rusted inside..If not check your carb real good..
