How do I get the clutch carrier assembly and the clutch housing off of the crankshaft? It appears to have threaded holes but I can't find any bolts that fit it. Any one know what size bolt fits it or do I just put a three jaw puller behind the housing and pull both off at once? 205339

it should slide right off if I remember right. Are you trying to pull the inner assembly off first or it and the drum at the same time? I think there is a indentation in the clutch drum to clear the primary drum gear.

Yup, there are two notches on the secondary's housing, one can be clearly seen facing up in the photo provided, the other is on the opposite side. Rotate the clutch just about 90 degrees until that notch allows the primary's teeth to pull out. If I remember correctly you can see what I mean if you look behind the primary with a flashlight and rotate the clutches.

Yep just did mine last weekend, line the notch in the secondary up with the shaft on the primary. It should slide right off.

Thanks guys, I'll have to try that when I get home. I didn't think it would be that easy. I tore down a 327 small block the other night that had been sitting for 8 years without any oil in it. Every part inside it had to be beaten out. It took an 8 pound sledge and a steel concrete spike to drive the pistons out. Sliding a pulley off should be a piece of cake.

I did one of these a few months ago on my 85 200ERN. You do need to line the clutch up, but mine was siezed on pretty tight. It took some gentle persuasion with a brass hammer to get it to pop off.

Got it put back together last night. Had to smack the crankshaft with a splitting maul to knock the front pulley loose. Made a huge difference so far just driving around the yard but it needs some hill climbing and log pulling to be sure it was money well spent. I even splurged and bought a new oil filter for it. I'm pretty sure the one that was in it was the original.
