Nice score Good luck bringing it back! IMO it's the "Buddy trike" as in anybody can ride it and have a great time on it. Not over powering handles great light weight good stock suspension. There were some discontinued rear red just sold cheap. I checked the site and they were sold...someone here picked em up fo-sure. https://maier-mfg.com/11981-honda-atc200x-rear-fender.html

I will check out the Maier site for those rear fenders. I have a set of 88 trx 250r rear fenders for it.The clutch needs a little work doesn't have much pull to disengage it .I put a new cable on it.I changed the front fender, tank scoops, and kill switch I have a new seat cover aswell. Tank needs painting rear subframe at the grab bar needs straightning, whole rear brake is missing and the rear carrier has a chunk missing where the adjustment holes are.I want to fix it up for trail riding. I have 2 other 200xs 1.84 and 1.83 auto x plus my 88 Quadsport. and 3 250rs.. This is what it looked like when I picked it up first pic.246670 246671 246672
Good find, I just got one in poorer condition for $160.
I'd have bought that one.

Iv been working on this and a 84 250r frame over past few weeks.Im only working at my job for 2 hours aday but getting paid for 8 hours.I figured out the clutch problems. One was the fins on clutch basket were grooved .2nd was someone put lock washers under the springs wich cause it to not have much pull to disengage.3rd 2 of the metal plates were together .I put a good set of friction plates in and filed the grooves down.Clutch has good smooth feel. Need to fix a leak in the tank so I can test drive it.

I started working on this trike again.I put a new carb kit and clutch springs in it.Starts and runs well but the fuel tank is leaking again where I soldered it.I drained it and left the cap off so I can prep it for soldering again. After 32 1/2 years of work I retired on December 31st lastyear.Im going to spend more time on my trikes and home improvement projects.

I soldered the tank on this again and it started leaking again. I'm going to try brazing it next hopefully that will do the trick.I need to get a bearing carrier for it and rear fenders.

IDK if you can learn anything from my experience but: When I tried brazing the same tank (not that it matters) it just kept cracking. I kept the heat as low as possible when fast high heat would get too hot too fast. I used brazing rods with flux on the rod itself. For some reason the tank not only had some tiny holes, it had some cracked areas, and they just kept extending as I braised it. When I did this it was for the 20 day Trikefest historic build and it was the day the guys were leaving, I was braising until they pulled in my yard, it was all I had for a tank or all that effort was a waste of time. If I had drilled a hole in the end of each crack it would look like a pin cushion, it's possible I just overlooked something, that was either 2005 or 2008.
Honestly, I was gonna try silver solder if I ever did another but if you didn't have much success IDK if I will either but I wanted to share my braising adventure....
RAD Manufacturing is back operating and he makes a new billet carrier for the 86/87 (I dealt with them thru Facebook). He told me they'd be 200$ but I think he's a bit higher now, fortunately I still have a couple NOS and used ones kicking around. Somebody could modify an existing CNC program easily to reproduce that carrier...

I watched a video of a guy soldering a motorcycle gas tank using a soldering iron it worked well.I may try that or liquid steel.Last measure would be some sort of tank liner.

Can't help with the tank or the carrier, but I do have the fenders that came on my 87. Not sure what you're looking for, they a little rough around the edges (literally, lol) but if they're anything you'd be interested in just let me know.
Thought I had some pics on my tablet but I must have deleted them . . . I'll try to snap a couple tomorrow if you want?

I put some Seal All on the gas tank it doesn't leak now. Also put the fenders on I got from Jason .I swapped out the oem bent axle for a straight 83 250r axle and took it for a ride .Overall it rides nice and handles well. But the clutch is slipping and the carb is still spitting out gas.I put new carb kit in I will figure that out. Im going to order new clutch kit and I need to find a rear brake setup. And I need to contact Rad about a bearing carrier. 267812267810267811

I'll check the garage, I might have a working rear caliper. The e-brake arm is broken/missing, but I think the caliper works.

WOW! Whoever owned it before snapped that carrier flange off pretty good! People need to grease the carriers up and get them moving first. Just make sure RAD gives you a good one, not a 2nd. They sold a buddy one with the holes drilled so far offset that once drilled the holes went thru the side of the carrier! AND, they wouldn't make good on it, they wanted it back before giving him a "good" one. He had waited a couple months already and wanted to ride, it worked, but I'm not sure how it all worked out in the end. When made correctly, the RAD carrier is very nice with double wide bearings and it's anodized, and no one else makes one for the 200X so there's that lol... There's a brand new 83/84 250R carrier kickin around, I always wondered if it would slide in an 83/84 250R, I should ask Lane, he has his 84 torn down I believe...

I think this trike was flipped end over end and the broken carrier is from that. The rear grab bar section was bent down the tank was twisted at the rear mount area the front hub and rim is second gen 250r .The left front of the tank is pretty banged up. There were no rear fenders when I got it .Both tank scoops were destroyed also.Whole rear brake assembly is mia.

Got above the garage tonight and what I had for rear calipers. I've got 1 1/2 that you could make 3/4 out of, I think, lol. The one that came on my X I had to cut off, so the caliper itself is useless, but the banjo bolt and pad pins are good. I bought the other one just to rob the e-brake arm off it, so I can't verify the caliper works but if it does the pieces would be there for a working caliper minus the e-brake arm. Here are some pics.

Now that I think about it, I might have an e-brake arm that could be made to work . . . I'll try to get out there and look again tomorrow. If you think you could use them, you could have them.

I finally got in a good ride on this trike.I used a fuel tank epoxy to patch the crack in the tank it seems to be holding so far. This past Saturday my wife and I went for a 30 mile or so ride I rode the 86 x and she rode the 84 x.Both trikes got alot of looks and thumbs up.Also both trikes ran well with no issues.

I finally got around to working on this trike again.I put a low hour 86 fatcat clutch basket and new fibers in no more slipping. I put and 86 front hub on with a new tire and Boss rim.Finaly got the carb to stop pissing out gas.I put an aftermarket rear master cylinder and caliper on all new brakes. I took it for a couple rides on the road it rips.Iv started working on the gas tank it has a couple dents I need to pull out. I think the steering neck is slightly twisted but it goes straight down the road. Next is putting new bearing carrier in and swingarm bushings.
