I've got 2 200x's.the first I just bought and I am converting it into a 200x auto clutch which is almost done,(check out my other thread called "my new trike").my other trike will have a cr 500 engine in it(yes a 500)I know that it will be hard to fit in but I will get it in and it will be custom...heres a update on it(progress has been slow since i have been very busy and with the addition of a 200x which slows its progress down)I am building it from the ground up and I have got my frame(i sandblasted it down)all of my rear end(needs to be blasted) and everything except fenders and a front brake system and it will be a roller.for the colour scheme I am goin with a silver frame and rear end with black plastic and tank with silver scoops and some aftermarket handlebars w/twist throttle and douglas 8 inch rims with RAZR'S.I was hoping to have the engine by now but since I just bought a 200x and will be dumping more money into it then that means I will have to put the engine on hold.

My 85' Honda 200x, (old pic) I havent gotten this running good since rebuild, and am still working on it. It now has a big bore kit, with high compression piston, new valves, old school fiberglass race fenders with painted flames, Chen Shin tires on ITP steel rims, 185s bottom end, answer handlebars, and a complete DG RCM pipe coming very soon in the mail. I hope to do the 350x suspension swap also.

The plug number for Kilobeez is DR8ES-L I checked when i rebuilt my engine the first time if i could get a hotter plug but the store said that DR8ES-L was the only plug that would work the best.

Allthough a regular clamp on filter is nice for more power it doesnt help velocity(air speed) very much because the end of the filter is right behind the carb. But Id agree with Vartiak the clamp on makes more power than stock. You can still gain more power than the clamp on by making a simple modification with some aluminum tubing, rubber hose and some hose clamps. This is the setup that I made for my brothers 200x. It helps to keep the velocity high and makes better power than just putting the clamp on right behind the carb.

so waht does that do? i dont understand how that makes more power? can you explain

He means, you can mount the filter facing the front of the bike, and when you get up to speed, it will force air into it. Kinda like a hood scoop works on a car. I bet the jetting is a pain with that set up.

Hondatrikesrule thats not how i mount it, I still mount it right behind the carb. I dont mount it so air is forced in. Its not a huge pain but the main jet has to be increased big time. We ended up increasing the main jet to a 114 from the 100 that was in it. The next thing we are going with will be a 28mm flatslide carb soon.

so if i do that mod i should go to a 114 jet? where can i get the jet?

Well it may not exactly be a 114 jet in your area. Height above sea level can play a role in jetting. The higher you go the thinner the air, so that means you would add less fuel to the mixture.

use a D8EA, a DR8ES-L is the same thing as the D8EA but with a resistor, absolutely unnescessary on that bike, unless you're running digital garbage on there. The other plugs listed are not NGK plugs but are equivalent.

that is a very nicely done 200x, the 350x gear really makes it a looker. where did you come across the fork brace?
nice 3ww sticker on the carrier

I got the chain tensioner off of Ebay. It was originally for an 82 250r, but with a little work it can be made to fit a 200x. It was pretty much a necessity cause with the extra long chain it was kinda hard to get the tension right. the chain would be slapping the skid plate, or it would be too tight. Since I put the tensioner on I haven't had any problems. It works Great! The ss break line, fork brace and parking break block-off were also ebay buys.
