Just starting this thread for everyone to respond to, the other one is way too long!

I'll let someone else fill in the details, but I will say we all kicked some butt today and we had a GREAT turnout.

Lots of pictures were taken, so they will be coming soon!!!

we had four teams show up,so thats 8 bikes, also speedbump was part of our group on his sweet t4.it was way too muddy for my prefrence, but was still alot of fun.

congradulations to tim sr.,and derrick.they snuck by us again to take first.max and i rode our tails off,but i had my chain popp off and cost us a lap.i swear if things would
quit messing up we would be right there with em.they bet us by about 3/4 of a lap.

everyone else also rode very well, and we all solidered through 2 hours of mud.the pics will show the extent of it.

thanks to everyone that showed,it was a great time.i can't wait for the next group outing!!!!!

Here is a few pics. None of me though I wiped out early and played pit crew the rest of the day. Boy it was muddy. Everybody did a great job. Congratulations go out to Derrick and Tim Sr. for First place in our class and I believe fourth overall and to Brandon and Max for second place and fifth overall. A special cudo's goes out to my team mate Torre ( I hope I spelled it right ) who ran the rest of the time after I bit it. He ran 17 laps solid on his own. Can you say IRONMAN. It was great to get to meet some of the people that I talk to on here you're all a great group. The first pic speaks for itself, the second is Brandon (threeleggeddog) and the third is Tim Sr.

howdy and i expeienced are share of proplems his 350 went and i had a clutch lever bend to the point that i couldnt reach it to get her in we still did good we got 17th overall and rode 1hour and 15 minutes again i apreciate the fact that speed bump drove from pa to come out and race this event to support our cause. And for everyone who came and race can say this "man it was muddy, but that was an excellent time." overall adding up all the times i have raced i have never felt more comfortable thsan tody. and for all who came lets do her again. as long as they let us ride then we should ride. And they welcome us there. For those of you who need parts for other trikes go to races with a trike. A guy came over started talking to us about trikes and said he had an air cooled r motor and a 200x just laying around at his parents house. once again i really enjoyed it and i am glad to have met new people, and hopefully next time there will be a better turn out then last.

Henceforth, Tabdude shall be know as "Irondude"! I was impressed. Even after that nasty spill on the downdrop he kept on going like the energizer bunny. I was going to whine about how slipperly my grips were until I noticed his were gone.

Ive gotta thank Team Honda, Brandon and Max, for one heck of a run. We had to work a lot harder for it, and it was a very narrow margin.

It was a real pleasure meeting those I hadnt met before, and hope to ride with again soon. A special thanks to Speedbump for making a long trip to be with us.

Ill also thank our surprise guest! I had this feeling....

Yes, It was quite the interesting day. I originally wanted to go to just be there and to provide Adam a trike ride. But I was talked into running it myself. It was worth it though.
It was great to meet everyone and then to spend some time on the track racing with and against them. It's a feeling I haven't ever had before, and might not ever do again ( only time will tell ). My body is still complaining.

To everyone that showed up ( I am bad with names ): I am Truely sorry I couldn't hang around much after the races. I really did want to stop and eat with you all. But I needed to get back and get some sleep before work. I did make it back around 7:30-8:00 PM and got about a hour sleep before heading off to work. I was moving at about 10% at work. You can be sure "IF" I run another race like that one, I won't be going to work the same night. lol

Funniest
The last lap was funny. TimSr was about 250-300ft from the finish line on the last lap and all of a sudden he was running the track. He finished the last lap on foot. Come to find out he ran out of gas with only a short distance to go. In Tim's words: "That last stretch was the hardest part of the whole race." I have to agree, the mud was too much to ride in, let alone running 250+ feet while in totally mud soaked clothes. That is what you call giving 200% to the team. :w00t:

As soon as I get my pictures developed I will get them posted. Hopefully jmack3986 has one of the camera's. If you got it let me know. ;)

I can't wait to see everyone at TF05!!

Howdy

P.S. The TF04 Helmet really come in Handy. I wore it with pride even after it was totally covered in mud. The bad part is right now it's Mud colored with a few white sprinkles. lol I couldn't imagine running that race with my old one. I am sure I wouldn't have done 1/2 as good.

Thanks, So much Tim--You and Derrick really rock as a team. Congrats on Fifth, I'm definatly the one impressed. Nothing feels better than passing quads that are stuck in the mudddddddd-- or have just slid off the track. Everyone who showed did a great job and really turned some heads. Don't worry Seadoo you'll get them next time and Thanks for the help in the pitts. It was really cool to put names with faces and I was really glad to meet everyone.

First off, I wanna thank 3leg for the Room & Board Saturday night. Dinner :beer was good, and thanks to Rachel for driving us back. It was real cool meeting all you guys. I had a blast....except for the mud...Howdy (thanks for the sticker packs, one is on the way to my Brother, 350Xhilaration), I HATE MUD!!!! LMAO! (I spent $10.00 in quarters this morning, and my T4 is STILL half covered.) Anyway, I may make it back out for the next one...THIS time with a trike. It was real nice of all you guys to let me hang with ya even though I was on a quad. I am real shitty with names, so let's just say thanks to everyone that helped set up the Canopy, handed us paper towels and rags, got me the 14mm socket and helped me strip off my muddy clothes. Thanks Tim for the warm trailer and water (not so warm :p ) Also, I think I can speak for everyone here... Howdy, the fresh gloves were a God send! :w00t: If I forgot to thank anyone....I am sorry. This should cover those I overlooked..... THANKS Guys!

I am working on the pics as I type this, so they should be up soon....Thanks Camera Man....freezin to get these shots! :Bounce

Hey Brandon, did you get the message I left on your machine? If not, did you happen to come across a black Carhart coat? IF so, it is mine! lol. BTW, talked to the guy with the forks ya need, he is firm @ $100.00 and $20 for some footpegs, but I may have the footpegs my self, if so...a thanks is plenty for mine. (YOU pay shipping, lol )

As for being sore, nah, not bad....actually took my quad for a rip around the driveway. Lots of slush, needed to clean out the tread before puttin it in the garage.

The part most sore on me is my EYES...feels like I had 20 lb of sand in em this morning. The rest of me is feelin GROOVY!! I wanna go back out and ride some more.

i had a few injuries to the trike:some retard on a utitlity quad used me for a berm in the first corner and bent my foot peg.also i popped the chain off which broke the case saver off the bottom end.i also had the air nozzle on the top of my fork break off before the race even started,no idea how,but every time i jumped the fork oil shot out and hit me in the face.other then that it was great!!!!!

I can't remember who owns the number 43 Tri-Z but just wanted to say, that's a damn cool idea with the outerwear shock covers over the forks. Are those made especially for forks or are they just normal shock covers? I've never seen anybody use them there.

Great pics everyone. Looks like you all had a blast and you reminded me of that lovely Ohio weather I left behind 12 years ago. :p Although it's rained like most people here have never seen this winter. Raining again right now actually. GO BACK TO OHIO WHERE YOU BELONG CLOUDS! :D

Hey Rachael, r u warm now? :p To resize pics, I use a small program from Microsoft. It is called Powertoys Image Resizer. Download it here (http://users.adelphia.net/~cinnamonlou/pics/imresizer.exe) from my site. To use it, just install it like a normal program. It is only 520k, so it will load quick. Once you install it, to use it....just right click on the picture you want to resize and a list of options pops up. You will see about 3-4 down from the top of the list "Resize Pictures" click it. A new popup box will open. It is fairly easy to figure out...just pick one of the 4 preset sizes, OR open the advanced tab by clickin advanced. That will open up a few other options. You can choose to make the picture any size you want....as in makin an AVATAR. You can also use the options to make the original picture smaller or larger. I forgot to tell you earlier that when you click one of the preset sizes, it makes a copy of the picture THAT size. You will then have TWO of the same pic. One original, the other resized. If you don't have alot of space on your harddrive to store bunches of pictures and duplicates, resizing the originals is the best bet. Hope this was explained good enough. If not, let me know and I will try to get ya straightened out. WAKE UP MAX!!! WAKE UP!!!! :w00t:

PS, sorry I mispelled your name. :D

Hi Jordan,

Cool pictures. You guys look like you had a lot of fun. I am very new to the race "business". I called my husband with your question and he is calling to double check with the AMA. We would love to have you guys at our track. As long as the AMA OK's it. We have to follow their rules to keep our sanctioning, and since we are the new guys we are trying not to upset them too much. I personally don't see why that would be a problem. Do you know if the sunset ramblers are AMA santioned? Because if they are and its OK it should be OK for our track. I will email you again as soon as I hear back from the AMA. Thank you for the interest in our track and I hope to see you this summer. Feel free to email me anytime or call 740 767 3740 with further questions. Shawna

I really doubt the AMA will allow trikes on that track, they are the ones who bailed on all the racers and the ATVA in the 80's to start with :( Keep your fingers crossed though, never know.

TimSr
02-23-2005, 03:16 PM
Its been almost 10 years since I even asked about an AMA event, and then it was resounding "NO". At that time, those were AMA rules, not individual track rules. Im not optimistic for an AMA invitation. Even as far back as 1990 they would not permit trikes to participate in the Blackwater 100. Many AMA sanctioned tracks (such as Crow Canyon) will allow trikes at pratice times, but they cannot ride in sanctioned events.
CRA is a different matter entirely. I got involved in racing CRA sanctioned events in 1998 because they DID allow trikes. There are no CRA rules against trikes, but some individual tracks do not allow them. This is their website
http://home.alltel.net/racecra/ CRA dominates amateur ATV racing in Ohio anyways, and have for more participants than AMA events.

Thanks old schoolin But i cant do this alone it is going to take alot of people to help. As long as people can go out and race i will be happy untill then i wont. If you can race events then do it and let everyone know who you are and what you stand for

Derrick Adams
02-23-2005, 05:01 PM
So let me get this straight, your attempting to get permission to race your trike at an AMA sanctioned event? Instead of beating your head against a wall, why don't you race and support the CRA events? Show that you can be competitive and safe in that series. Once you run that series for a year, if you decide to go after AMA sanctioned races, at least you would have some information and results to propose to them.

I personally think a better way to go with AMA would be a proposed "Vintage 3 wheeler class". Even still that would be highly unlikely, the amount of race oriented trikes left out there, combined with the few brave enough to race them, would be so minimal that there would never be enough to fill a class anyhow.

Personally, I don't care to race an AMA event anyhow. If they wanted me there they would invite me. Not to mention that the level of competition that you could be forced to run with may,in fact, be dangerous to yourself and other racers. I mean face it, our trikes are 20 years old and are in no way designed for the level of tracks that are out there today. I say stick to the outlaw races.

OldSchoolin86
02-23-2005, 05:06 PM
Thanks old schoolin But i cant do this alone it is going to take alot of people to help. As long as people can go out and race i will be happy untill then i wont. If you can race events then do it and let everyone know who you are and what you stand forI'm going to take this year to build my trike. Next year when it's done I'll be glad to join up with all of you for some races. Reading this thread just make me want to get it done quicker. Hopefully next year I'll move up from the pro-arm division but untill then I'll be in the back supporting.

My friend is pretty sure HE wants it. I really would rather have a 350X as I got me a quick 2 stroke already...I need a nice mellow trail thumper. I was all excited about the R more for last weekend's race than anything else....seeing how THAT didn't happen....I am looking to get a nice X. If I come across another R for a decent price....and have the spare $$$$$ i will definetly pick it up. If my friend wants this one...I can't buy it and then resell it to him for a profit, that would be wrong. It isn't going anywhere for the time being....and I am kinda outta cash right now...just bought the Tiger. (not to mention spending about $1300 for parts and pieces in my PCs.)

I WILL have a trike for June....count on that!

Just a little update on the pictures from my camera's. I am still waiting for jmack3986 to either send me my camera ( so I can get the film developed ), or for him to get the pictures developed. I am just about to the point of TOTALLY giving up on that whole camera.

jmack3986: What is the hold up????

It has been 6-7 tommorrows and still nothing. What the heck is the hold up? It's been over 4 weeks already. Are they growing the farging trees to make the paper?

We can just take more pictures...at the NEXT RACE! Heck, we will have THEM before he ever gets around to producing a pic from the cameras in question, eh? Onlyt Half joking.

Come on, we wanna see the pictures. If you haven't dropped them off, and are just forgetting to do it, then please just say so. If it is a $$$ issue, please say so. If you can't get them done, at least send it back to Howdy so HE can do it.

Do you have the footage ON your PC, or is it just on tape? If you can get it to your PC, just email it to me...put it in a zip file if you can. www.winzip.com try that one, it is a good program...easy to use too.

Anybody know how I can save these pics on my computer? When I try to right click and save as it says it cannot save cause it's an art file or somthing like that. Keep in mind I'm not too computer smart.
