Well i'm going to get bearings tomorrow for the entire machine and so i'm real anxious to put it all back together. I only have one problem and that is with the differential. The paint is almost all flaked/worn off of it so i'm going to sandblast it. I'm replacing the 2 bearings for the axle but the pinion gear bearing or whatever is in excellent condition so i'm not replacing that one. The axle bearings werent in horrible shape but i figured i'd change them before they did get bad. what i want to know is if i should paint, powdercoat, or leave the differential bare metal? It's aluminum so it wont rust but will it look like crap if i leave it bare? Is there something i can do to prevent the aluminum from oxidizing? Is there any paint that will hold up and is someone cheap? I think powdercoat is out of the question because i would have to pull the pinion gear and bearings out or else they would get damaged. I just cant decide if i should leave it bare or paint it or go to the bother of pulling the pinion gear and bearings out to powdercoat it.
thanks
