I just picked up a 160 from a guy that had the carb off of it.I took the carb apart and cleaned it and adjusted it twice already. It will start right up and runs good but will idle wide open.It is running lean and if I put my finger over what I assume is the vent hole it will die.No matter how I turn the adjustments it doesn't change anything.Any ideas?

Have you moved the needle in the carb at all or the idle screw?

Yeah they do not change anything.

This almost always means you don't have the carb slide in right. It's either backwards or just not seated properly. Take it out and make sure it goes down all the way.

Thanks, I have done that several times and still no difference.

Must have a air leak somewhere, put oil or soapy water around your bearing seals, gaskets, and what not and look for bubles or the fluids being pulled in.

What is the other hole coming out of the carb?IS it a vent or should it be hooked to something?I am not familiar with the kawis much!

Plug that extra hole and see what happens. I had a vent or something on my KLT200 and the bike wouldn't idle down until I plugged it. I never did find out where it was supposed to have gone, but plugging that made it run, so I went with it.

I did and as said before it will idle down and then die.
