Hi again I posted yesterday asking for help with my big red with a stripped out rear end. It is a 85, and I have been looking at all the old post and am a little confused.
I have seen post where people say a 250sx will fit then others saying it will not. Seen post saynig only a 85 will fit, then others saying any 250 will fit. same things about fourtrax rear ends.
From what i can gather and please correct me if I am wrong but, the rear end from any of these although maybe geared different will fit my bike. The axles are what changes on the SXs and the Fourtrax. And a 85 sx axle will work with my hubs and brakes altough it is 1/4 inch longer.
What I have not determined is if any other year big red changes somewhere along the way. Can a 86, 87 axle fit my bike using my hubs and brakes? What about other years?
I have been unable to locate much for the big red so far but plenty for the SX.
