I know that alot of guys use the cr500 frame. But how much would I have to modify, if I would use a 86 250R frame? Would it work?

Yes it can work, but its a lot of fab work. Look in the mad scientist lair for my thread called "My latest invention" for a complete walk through of what I went through for mine.

If you Talk to Kasey hes had the 500 for the longest Here on the boards. Ive riden it and it feels very sturdy and i dont think he went through nearly as much work as others go through to make it work. AND he rides the chit out of it, Its stayed to gether for the abuse he puts it thorugh.

it almost seems that it would be less work to use a cr500 frame ...??? but would the 250r swing arm bolt on?

Its a shame the R model ATC's were only sold with 250CC engines. They should have made 80, 125, 500 aswell as 250 just like they did with the CR
Dammit!

There was a ATC 500R ready for production actually. If trikes would have lasted another year it would have been released.

i would go with the R frame. it will be cheaper, easier, and look like a R if that is your goal.

prototype yes. brochures, no, to the best of my knowledge.
one of the members on here who was a honda racer got to test it back in the day.
even he admits that it was wayyyy to much power for the average joe.

Honda's "japs" still own it. The guy that has it now wont allow pictures to be taken. Where the bike is now the guy is an employee of Honda. If honda ever decided they wanted it back it would be back on a freighter. The guy that currently has it cant do anything with it because of that reason.

The person that told me this is a member here. I have been riding with him MANY times. The attatue that atctim has is the reason he hasnt said anything or attempted to really get any pictures of it. Maby if your belved factory honda riders that rode the 500 contacted a few people they could easely find out where its at. Its not hiding you just would have to ask the right people.

Oh, sounds like its Mymint. I wonder why he never said anything about it before? Probably just coming out recently to make me feel bad about calling him out in the open forum like I did. Nope, I sure don't and even if he does actually know about it I don't care to hear about it through him.
I'm no longer interested and will do the classical move of my part that mymint so loves to describe and pitty over "TURNING A BLIND EYE". :welcome: have a nice day everybody.

I am wanting to believe there was such an animal. But if it still exists which is a coin toss I wanna see pics. So if someone is hiding it, C'mon outta the closet with it. You knows it had to be done for racing purposes, so maybe its just another hand built machine instead of a factory job. But I want pics of the real deal.

Nope, Its not Mymint, you know he coudnt keep his mouth shut. This indivudal is much more in tune with trike racing then Minty was.

This was a ready for production trike lookes diffrent from the others, Now i havent seen it this is just coming from someone elce. Honda owns the trike. There is no way to get it from them. Only the factory racers are teh ones that have riden it and that was in the 80's. Its sat since then.

Could this mean there were other trikes that honda had prototypes of and were never released?
