I just overhauled the top end of my '85 ATC70 and when I cranked it up, oil was pouring out by one of the head bolts. I torqued all the nuts down and have all new gaskets. I can not figure what's up with the oil bypassing the lower left bolt. Any help ?

If Its On The Top ,, Yep The Brass Washer,,, If Its In The Gap Between The Head And Cylinder,,, The Oring In The Head Gasket Is Missing...

That's the correct bolt leaking. Problem is, I have not noticed any difference in the washers. I'll double check that brass washer. 3 nuts are cap-types and 1 is a regular hex head. I suppose that the one that should have the brass washer?

Mine has cap nuts on all four head studs.

Thanks you All ! While bolting the valve/rocker cover on, I got the bright idea to add lock washers.?> ?. After looking for the brass washer you mentioned, it hit me what the problem was. After removing the lock washers, no leak problem. Thanks again and have a fun and safe ride ...
