The hose coming out from the rear differential is a vent. It allows air to exit and enter the differential when the oil temperature change.

    Carburetor

Hey i saw under one of your posts that you owned a 1984 yamaha 225dx. I have a 1985 yamaha 225dr and i am in need of a new carburetor and the OEM one is $300. I was wondering if you knew what size the carburetor is or if you know where i could find that information out, so i could buy an aftermarket carb. Thanks.
