    1983 185s BRAKE PROBLEM

    How can i fix my brakes? i went riding a few weeks ago and almost ended my life because i dont have brakes, well sun i am going riding again without brakes, they seem to grab a slight ammount but not much, how can i get them to perform enough to slow or stop me? i have the handle bar adjuster turned all the way out. help please

    I dont know about your 185, but my 200e has adjusters for both the rear and front, it tightens the cable, you should see it on there, one is in the back where the cable comes in for the rear and the other is on the front brake where the cable comes in...

    Also like RDL said, new shoes will help, i just got mine on eGay for $30 for both sets of shoes...

    i t ook the front apart and there are pads in there but i adjusted them to the max and they get dont retract and dont really stop either

    new pads forsure, you can only tighten the brake up so much.
    Looking for some smaller style tires like the r's have, just 2 back tires. pm please.

    what are the thickness of the new show friction material? cause the one that are on it have 1/16"-1/8" of material, but mostly closest to the 1/16"

    well heck then it seems i have pleanty of pad, if i only about 1 - 2 16ths down! must be another problem, i can get them to lock up with my hand, but they dont release.

    ordered front and rear brakes along with wheelbearings, couldnt find a gas cap seal though! anyone know where to get one of those? mines cracked apart
