well got the bearings and the brakes in the front, man anyone know where to download a pdf manual for a 83 atc honda 185s???? if so please let me know where.. my brakes grab good, when i spin them, but i have to move the wheel again and they release slowly.. thinking maybe im missing a spring on the outside like my 200s has for the front brakes.. the cable is a little stiff though too.. i did soak the cable in oil.. it helped but isnt as free moving as a nice new one.. might have to order one.

i have a factory honda service manual in my sig. there's a link to honda stuff. the 200s is the exact same rear brake as your 185s.

thank you, perfect! looks like i got everything i need.. must be the sticky cable.. will soak again..

I am working on the front brake system, and it seems different then my 200s's front brake, the 200s has a external spring on the arm.

Make sure you clean the hole real good in the drum, where the cam goes though (so it operates freely).

Take an old tire innertube and cut one by hand. You have to be a little more resourceful than that if you have a trike. You also might want to look into buying some cork gasket at your local auto store and cutting a cork gasket if you don't have any rubber handy. Also if you have your front end taken apart, make sure and clean up all your parts and lubricate them so the move smoothly. You might also need an o ring for your brake actuating shaft. Some trikes take the o ring and some don't. Try and get new springs for your brake shoes if they don't come in the kit, they will help your brake return and don't forget to lube your brake cable inside the housing. Who knows how long it's been since the last time it was lubed. Get on out and do some much needed maintenance on that trike.
