    Adjust valves

Trying to adjust the valves on an 82 200m. I got the T mark lined up with the notch in the case. I do not feel any play in the rockerarms. even when i rotate it 180. Do I need to use a little more force? The rocker arm should be able to move up and down by hand? Then... where do i insert the feeler guage. Manual says between the rocker arm pad and the cam lobe. I cant see anything I would call a cam lobe at all. Just the rocker arm. Can anyone offer some tips here. Thanks

My manual says to insert the feeler gauge between the adjusting screw and the valve stem. 0.002 in. (0.05 mm) for both.

Hmm, does it have a picture?

Does this diagram look correct? The parts labeld properly and what not:

Im thinking its wrong. But thats the only place I can see to put a feeler. Thanks

Your parts are labeled wrong mohadib.

If you stick the feeler between the bottom of that flathead adjustment skrew and the top of the valve you should be fine.

Pics not correct . You see were the sloted screwdriver goes on the rocker arm adjustment screw ? The bottom of that were it touches the valve is were you place the feeler guage . Loosen the locknut when the motor it top dead center and make your adjustments .

Alright, thanks everyone! I finally got it. They are just right to at .002inch. At .003 it left really light scratches on the feeler, .002 slid in with resistance but no scratches and moved around pretty easy. The one on the intake side was pretty hard to get at! Thanks again!

Oh, BTW Clymer manuals seem to be kind of crappy compared to other manuals you guys have given me. I'll not be buying one of theirs again!

Just a note, your better off a little loose, than too tight. Don't want to burn a valve.

Make sure you have it at .003, mabey even between .003 and .004, leave em a tad loose....they will tighten up.
