    rear axle

    some one on here told me i could not change just my axle i has to get a whole new dif. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamah...=p4506.c0.m245 is this add a mistake?
    Looking for some smaller style tires like the r's have, just 2 back tires. pm please.

    that seems like alot for a stock axle? Are the ytm parts more in general?

    there harder to come by then the ATC parts. my axle has a bend in it. drives me nutz and gets bad after 3rd gear. im just happy i can replace the axle. some on on here told me i had to replace the whole rear. and thats 250US not including shipping.
    Looking for some smaller style tires like the r's have, just 2 back tires. pm please.

    It's pretty, but I wouldn't pay that much.

    yea thats my plan. i was just using the ebay link incase i got the same awnser that yo ucould not change it. im sure a nice member will hook me up with a fair price.

    I bought a complete 225dx rear end (swing arm, brake disc and caliper , axle, hubs) for 200$. YTM around here were popular. I say keep looking around for a deal.

    Also when you'll change the axle. Replace the right ( when looking form the rear) bearing and seal for a brand new one.. I stripped the diff be riding with a worn out bearing.

    ill replace all bearings and seals when i replace the axle forsure. the bearings on there arent in the best of shape to begin with.

    I think you mis-read Luke. In the thread posted above - you asked if you can replace just half of your axle. 3podd answered:

    He was simply saying that no, you can not replace 1/2 of your axle - you must replace the entire axle. And the axle goes through a drive unit on the left side.

    thats a front axle, he needs the rear if i'm not mistaken? anyhow just pull that baby out and stick it in a hydraulic press with a set of V blocks. If its still rideable now i'm sure its fixable.
