My new motorcycle... well, 45 years old

Just registered it yesterday and rode it to work today.

    It's a 1964 Honda CT200, AKA 'Trail 90'. 2300 miles and all original!

It's 90cc of pure power with 4 gears.

I'm 190lbs and it pulls me to 50mph easy.

I haven't detailed it yet. Needs a good cleaning and polishing.

Just thought I'd post it up. I'm sure some of the older folks here will remember these

My friend had one of those, when I was a kid. I remember burning my leg on that pipe. Good times.

    Yours is in great shape.

    Lifan does have a 12v 4-stroke 4-speed 125cc that bolts in.

I wouldn't mind a China motor for offroad or a pocketbike... but for a motorcycle that gets regular use? Ehhhh... no thanks.

I've got 2, a 1970 that's being restored and a 1978 that's ridden almost daily. I had a 140cc in the '78 for over a 1000 miles then decided it was worth more stock. I bought the '70 cheap and if it won't run, it's getting the 140cc.
    I love my cargo box.

Nice, One of the most indestructible bikes out there, i had a 78, rode the pegs and everything else off it...Could kick start it by hand and it ran like a champ..

The two sprockets on the back; one is for high range, the other for low range! Slip the chain to the other sprocket for a quick ratio change. IIRC they only had this setup in the first year of Trail 90's till they changed to a high/low lever. (much like the ones on the 200es or 125m)

    Very nice looking machine!

Mine needs some work... too many projects and being deployed don't help!

The high/low range is exactly like an ATC90/110. They are surprising what they'll climb in low range and with an auto clutch you can walk it out of places that would be much harder with a hand clutch.

Here's what it looked like with the 140cc, It would run 60mph and was pretty quick.

wouldnt you need a longer chain to use the bigger sprocket? and does the front sprocket slide over or is the alignment off from one to the other??

They have a little box that carries extra links, 8- I think to run the big sprocket. The later ones have the high/low range that you flip a lever on the tranny case like the ATC 110.
