    my 86 350x runs rich

i recently took off the carb on my 1986 honda 350x to clean it up because it keep leaking gas about of the over flow hole. the small jet was clogged up also. i put it back together and got it running but it still throws black smoke and runs ruff and still leaks gas. what adjustments do ihave to do or what do i have to buy to get it running right?

just a thought, try taking off the air box lid, that will allow more air to get in there, alot of us here don't run the lid

Your float level is not adjusted correctly if its puking gas out the overflow, and causing it to run rich...

    I don't believe they're adjustable.

You may just need a good carb rebuild kit with a new float valve/needle and clean the brass seat.......

What D.C. said^^ you need a new float valve and maybe a new float. Also make sure you gas cap is venting.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.
