125M just picked up, good deal?

just got this 1985 125M about a month ago for $250. wash, carb cleaning and new battery. old man had it for about 15yrs in a windowless garage, fully serviced 2yrs ago. one question i do have is, is there a front suspension fork i can swap on to it or a way to fab/redneck up my own set-up? i got a few more pics with differant angles.



just for kicks, here's my buddy's Big Red 250es. $500, new rear tires, wash job, still needs seat cover and front brake cable for it though. guy who sold it offered 1200-1500 to get it back. buddy said no-way. lol

those are some sweet machines. I believe the atc 200's and 185 front suspension will bolt on with little to no fabrication

Nice toys. Yes I believe the 185s/200 front forks are a bolt on affair. Search around on here as some people have done it.

I think they are right a 185S FRTend will fit . You just may have to do something to the fork stops so you dont smash your tank. By the way Welcome, you have a realy nice trike there

^agreed... thats a beautiful 125m and original... the old 185s front suspensions werent much better than a solid front end anyway.... that 125m is probly worth about 600 id say you made an exellent buy. the big red is probly worth 1500 with a new seat cover. very nice wheelers there!

cool, thanks fellas. i thought it was good but this is reasurance to me. thanks. my buddy would thump me for showing his 250es dirty like that, we had just got back from a ride. i've had a couple bikes when i was younger and rode a few friends atv's, but this is my first 3wheel. yep, i'm planning on keeping it as original as i can with out going resto on it. only want to add a rear rack, hitch, wheel spacers and if possible a suspended fork for a touch of comfort/control. the only bad things found so far clutch seems to slip a touch too much imo. not totally sure though, not used to auto trans could just be the rider. already got it adjusted as tight as the service manual says. other than that the rear mud flap burns. how can you not notice this while riding? never could figure that out. then the welded front tabs on the fork cross tube for the homemade rack that was on it. grrr... notice they were too lazy to remove the fender before welding? just another reason for wanting a new fork. lol almost forgot it's got a twist throttle, service manual and didn't come with the tool kit.

just cleaned up the 125 this weekend. took mean green and a toothbrush to it. turned out pretty good i think. think i might repaint the rims sometime soon.

Nice odyssey, it has a challenger/desert star cage on it. Way stronger than stock.

cool thanks, we were wondering what kind of cage it was. driving it can be a challenge with no rear suspension too. lol

dang, just noticed a couple things i forgot to wash.

Rear suspension is easy to adapt with welding and some quad shocks. Front canh be way better too.

Best bang for buck is some pro-wedge tires in rear and fox airs in front. A DG head or watercooled head is good too.

it's a bit of a mutt to begin with, but we like to keep things original as best we can. no cutting or welding unless no option, only did the things we did sofar because it was needing serious replacement/fixing. all he's planning to do is couple more engine/drivetrain mods. should of seen it 3yrs ago when he started. it was pretty bad, wish i had pics.

What bolts in the rear do I need to loosen to tighten the chain?
