    85 tri z project

heres my 85 tha t ive been slowly puttin together. all new top end and many parts off ebay. its finally almost complete .i confiscated the back tires off my 200 so i could run it. so those will be history now that is runnin.. ihad an issue when i first got it running. it was running real rich and boggy up to about half throttle. the carb was cleaned well and had stock everything in it and i spent half a day trying to figure it out.i tried the airscrew , needle position and nothing worked. so today i decide to pull the pipe to look at the piston to see if their was any wear on it. all good. so i shake the pipe and here some rust flakes in it.so igo to blow it out with air and the freaking pipe was loaded with a mouse nest i took a pile about the size of a soft ball oughta their . holy shat got it all out and walla it runs runs awsome. got it out with a drill and a coat hanger. just thought id share that when youve tried everything u can think of check your exhaust . my buddy had a sled and found his muffler loaded with dog food one fall when he was getting it ready for the winter.

I can relate to that! I bought a 185s last year, had spark, was getting gas, just could not get it to fire at all. I had my brother hold his hand behind the muffler, and he said there was NO flow at all. I pulled off the muffler, and gave the rope a good rip, and it popped right off. I had to actually cut the muffler in half with a hack saw to get all the mouse out of it, then have it re-welded.
Very nice tri z by the way. I am also working on mine which I picked up not too long ago. Getting closer to completion. You say you got some parts on ebay? I bet we battled over at least a couple of them in the bid wars. How do you like the Z then? Does it handle awesome or what? Nice work.

Looks good man. I like the sticker on the boost bottle. Most are washed off. Is that a stock kicker?
