    Got the green light!

Ok, so I got the green light from the misses to buy my next machine. That in itself is the battle, finding the bike is the easy part. I did find an 86 350x that Im going to check out this Saturday. The seller dont know much about it, except that its a "three wheeler white model" Wish me luck and i will post pics if i end up getting it.

She must have give you a pretty good price ceiling, if you're looking at 350x's.

    Good luck.

Ok, so I wake up today and check Craigslist as I do everymorning, and see a 350x for $250. To good to be true right? I call the guy, he tells me he was doing a full resto, but needs money now! So I go check it out and its a complete 85 or 86 (how can i tell the difference) 350x. Sure its disassembled and he bent a valve but its all there and everything looks good. Now my question to you guys is do I still buy the one i made this post for?

    Resto can cost thousands......

I'd buy an assembled lower hour machine any day over a basket case.

The motor alone, done well with some goodies can eat up either 400$ or 1000$.

Look at the 85 the guy on the board just got for 1250$, how can you beat that??
Aside from 85 to 86 plastic colors, I have a couple of quick visual differences.

85 rear caliper has a link to it, 86 is more compact. 85 front caliper has cooling ribs, 86 does not and the 85 shock had a black adjuster knob, 86 has gold anodized. THOSE are the fastest ways I can think of in telling the year.............So many times parts can get swapped so it's tough to say what is WHAT!

There are dozens of other diffs all on the board if you do a search.

I'm partial to the 86 myself, all those little changes made up for a super nice machine.
