    I can't imagine getting suked into that lathe

    BTW, those are cranks/rods and other engine related parts there building in case anyone didn't know.

    Fascinating to me anyhow!!

    And something that is awesome to me is nothing is computer controlled. All drawings were done on a drafting table with a pencil and all drawings given to a machinist do make without CNC programming - now that is cool!

    i love it!

    those old boys were the best at figuring out how to make things work.
    80s......185 atc, Yamaha tri-moto 200, 85 200x with tons of work
    90s......89 Suzuki quad racer 250 (raced 250 A class for 6 years, late 90s.. custom framed 250x with long travel shocks and a built 350x motor.... built Honda 110
    00s...... chomeoly framed 350 RX with all the goodies (thanks to my bro)
    2012.....Replaced the 350x motor for a 444cc YZ426

    Yeah, the workmanship is nothing short of unbelievable....

    I'd NEVER think you could torch cut thru a foot thick of steel, never!!

    There is one particular pic where the guy is on the left side of the steady rest and looks real close to 4 huge jaws or clamps on the faceplate/chuck - CRAZY!!

    I am a machinist and i remember watching instructional movies at trade school, mostly filmed around war time(WW2). A lot of the people operating the gear were womem cause their men were off serving their country. They were machining some pretty hefty stuff too.
