Can anyone help me with valve adjustment specs for 1984 Yamaha 225dx

I dont have a Clymer manual for my new bike but it is making valve noise and I would like to make an adjustment. tomorrow when I am removing and cleaning the carb. Could anyone help me out and let me know the clearance specs and what timing marks I need to line up and where they are? Thanks to anyone that can help me. - Zach

Try right clicking and save it to your hard drive.

Then open it. You need a PDF reader to do so.

I don't have a manual either, but I bet you could set any machine cold at TDC (on the compression stroke) to .005 thousandths and you'd be just fine...........

Honestly, most guys can't feel the difference between a few thousandths anyhow.....It takes a good set of hands to fell a couple thousandths

From what I've seen, the manual isn't te "do all" book it should be. Sometimes you set valves by the OEM manual and there STILL noisey! Even when oil is getting to the top end....... If there still noisey hot, I take off a couple thousandths and they quiet down...........
