    My recent purchase of a 85 200x!!

Hello to everyone I am very new to this site, but having been doing some research on my new purchase a 85 200x, I had to sign up due to all my searches were leading me to this site!. Well i bought my new trike 3 weeks ago, I passed by a auto shop, that I Pass by almost daily, when one day i noticed my 200x parked outside with a for sale sign, I pull over quickly, when i noticed they were asking $650.00, wich I tought was a fair price since it started on the second kick and the owner let me take it for a spin, I noticed the clutch wasnt very tight but it wasnt slipping, Unfortunately i was recently laidoff!. So i tried bargaining with the guy, I threw $300.00, he denied $350.00 denied $400.00 he said deal but i needed cash since i was planning on leaving a deposit until the next day, so i went to the bank and gave him $400.00 for my new 85 200x with title and everything. So I get home start it let it idle the thing starts and runs like if it were new, I did bleed both brake lines and added new brake fluid the stuff that was in there was gross...but other then that the thing is cherry!!!
I live in the San Diego Ca, so i really dont have were to ride it yet, so ive taking it down to a little baseball field down the street and man does it haul!!!, Im in love!!!. Well i just wanted to see what you guys tought, weather I should keep or sale, Since i really want a 250r...honestly i would like to have both Heres some pics! Thanks guys!!!

Dang dude, you stole that thing. Ive been seeing them go for double that in worse condition even with the way the economy is. I say keep it and ride the heck out of it. She looks real nice.

Welcome to the boards. You did well for $400. I would definetley keep it. Right now is not a good time to sale and remember these will just continue to go up in value

    Damn Thief

Damn dude you stole that ride. Thats a sweet 200X and everyone knows that if taken care of they are pretty much bullet proof. It seems yours is even better. With title and all original like that you cant go wrong at that price. Good score

Quick question. Is that chain tensioner stock? I have never seen one like that and mine is an 86 so I dont know about that year.

$400 and a TITLE to boot,,,,,, what a deal. I'd keep it and look for your 250r. You allways want a back-up. If you do sell it, Even on Ebay get at least $1200 it's got a title.

^ That is not the stock chain tensioner. It looks to me like aftermarket or custom fit "caliper" style tensioner. That is a great deal for $400. If you think that thing hauls, you should try a 250R. The 250 will make that feel like a childs toy. I still love the 200x though, and wouldnt count it out for the best, most versitile all around trike. Good luck, and keep us posted with what you do with it.

Thanks to everyone for responding!!!...I was really stoked when he went down so much on the price. And hearing all of your opinions I think I am going to hold on to it for a while and just get a 250r once i get some mula!....as far as the chain tensioner I have no idea if its stock or not ima have to go with yamaha rules69, the only after market parts that i know of is the back hand rail, and the uni intake filter.
    Thanks fellas!

Three wheeler guys probably have the biggest balls out of all the ATV/Motorcycle riders. You just have to be a little twisted to ride them, and you have to be a great rider to do so.
