Hey guys, i think i'm in deep....trouble..
I started to look at the electrical today and it's a bit hard to understand it..
I got the scheme from the 82-83 200E, and the 84 200ES, but neither is the right one. Because i have an 84 200E, so i don't have a reverse light, but i do have the DC outlet, and some other things differ also, fuses etc.
The problem was that the electric start did not work when i fired up the Big Red, that's why i have to find the problem..
So, i really dont know where to start..

Could you give a little more detail? It is the wiring harness that came off that machine, right?
Honda was usually great about not using the same color wiring near anywhere they could be accidentally connected. I put the wiring harness on a Trail 90 that was in a box and just hook up the wires that match in color and you should be good.
Now if its got a different harness that doesn't come equipped with e-start then you'll have to wire it in. Do you have most of the starting system in place? It would be easy and clean to run a starter seloniod off the 12V outlet, that way you wouldn't have to splice and factory wires.

Hi guys, the project came to a complete halt a while back. So much to do now when spring is approaching =)
But now things are moving again, got a few pictures for you to show the progress so far ;

This week i will search for a new coil and hopefully finish the re-wiring of the electrical that was a total mess. A buddy of mine helped me and now the electric starter is alive !
Stay tuned !

I have never heard of a 84 200E, A 200ES yes,, it must be a rare 200E indeed. wow..also I just heard from another member that he has found a "crate motor" in the original honda crate for the 1984 ATC200ES BIG RED at a dealership . thats pretty rare to.

Well the "ES" as it was called was the American model, in Europe we had the "E" model a bit longer.
Europeans like the chain-drive more then you guys do i guess =)
