atc70 help anyone plz with ignition fault finding

hi all
i new to this site i have just bought a 1985 atc70 trike well i bought it as a non runner i took the flywheel off cleaned all the points up and cleaned all contacts up set the points and im getting no spark but the cut off switch if you flick the wires while turning over the coil leads gives a nice blue spark off and im not sure where to go next if anyone out there could share any info? many thanks tony

Sounds like you need to go through your wiring??

hi rob well i unpluged the engine loom from the frame and run the coil wire straight to the engine loom and still no joy ? regards tony

First off, I have tried to clean points before, and most of the time, it does not work.
If you get spark while wiggling the on off switch, I would disconect the switch and re check for spark.
If you have spark, then the on-off switch is shorted and needs replaced.
