200x kickstart ??

Just picked up an 84 200x a couple weeks ago... runs great just dont think the kickstarter is right. It only engages at the very bottom of the stroke and only turns the motor one time. Is this common or am I looking at a rebuild. Any info would be great.....

Sounds possibly like the kicker gears are out of time . Who ever put the gears in last didnt line the dots up right . Or the kicker ratchet assemble could be going bad also .

I agree they may have changed the clutch and didnt line the 2 gears up easy fix, i made that mistake

i forgot to line mine up when i pulled the side cover off to inspect the clutch on my old one, put it to gether and the kicker wouldnt budge!!! pulled the cover off and re set the gears and worked like a charm!
