A rare Tiger under the shop tree...Networked with a GREAT member ...Life is good

OK for those of you who may not have opened the 125 post by devilman here it is......

    BUT FIRST
I have to say Devilman is a top shelf guy. I cant even begin to describe the level of assistance he gave me in obtaining this TIGER. He PM'd me recently about finding one in his state....we never communicated before this PM...We never spoke before..... On Monday I asked him if he could make it happen....On Tues he picked it up for me driving hours....On Wednesday night night I was driving to meet someone who drove it from NC to NY all on Devilmans arrangements...3 am Thursday it was at its new home. He could have told me he wanted to keep it....he paid for it...but he followed thru on our word to word over the phone (not even a handshake). There was a an incredible amount of trust on both sides of this deal. We could bump into each other walking down the street and never know who the other one was. It was refreshing to meet yet another great member and enthusiast from this site.
A HUGE thanks to devilman for adding a rare one to the TIGER MUSEUM.

What do we have here?? ....For those who know my TIGER webpage this a Dual radiator R3 tiger 125...first one ever authenticated with exception of the evidence and parts I have from the tiger factory. I was in the processing of piecing one together. After I saw a picture of the orange tank (never saw one before) I went back to my TIGER R3 factory tank molds ( there was a one thin layer of orange gelcoat in a few blue and white) The tiger factory molds are like tree rings... chipping the layers at the end of the mold can tell the story. These tanks were not painted they mixed the colors in the gelcoat.

The condition of this one....GRITTTTTTY but so is Bret Favre. I have extra parts for it. The pipe well....picture tells that story. I havent seen to many like this, Motor locked....bad news for a rotax 125!!!!! I may put my other running 125 in this one until I figure that out.....the rare radiators pretty beat but I have an extra set I bought from the mickey dunlap prototype deal....is nippendeso defunct?? Rear Fender/shrouds great shape.....both this one and the dulap protype had trouble with the rads and drilled for extra brackets to stop them from cracking off and breaking...missing the front end (has the t3) but I have extra tripples and and its worth robbing the forks, hub, and wheel from another. Skid plate....looks homemade...I with investigte that further.

This was a week that saw my NOS 81 R leave for a collectors showroom and the realignment of my collection continues....The TIGER ATV history just had one more gap and question mark filled in.

Also heres a sneak peak at something else that made it into the stable this past year.

Pretty neat. Quite the puzzle you have put together! The more that is found out and uncovered about these machines is impressive. Im starting to think that finding two identical tigers would be a feat in itself! When it comes to the small
stuff every single one has its differences. Even both of mine have significant differences. Wonder what else is out there? 200cc Super4? 500cc Super4? 500cc R3? with an obscure LC engine? Its all a possibility! hehe I like the black one. Cant wait to hear the story behind it. HH

    oh and Devilman....

Here is the mold.....note the blue ...thickest..white not so thick...orange one thin layer....pictures are hard to get of it....there are multiple areas on the mold you can see. It is crazy that this could be the gelcoat to this one machine!!! The orange bottom is the inside of the mold itself....the picture is an unfinished real shell inside it

Yeah I saw his post and thought the exactly same thing, truly an awesome dude and hands down what most of us should strive for. We have a great deal of guys on here that would do that in a drop of a hat, just wish the world would take notice and do the same. Glad to hear you got it as you deserve it, esp with your great collection.........peace

Great story and big props to Devilman

This board and 3 wheelers have brought me some of the best friends I could ask for. Some are just casual friends, more are closer to "best buds" but the majority of them I could call at anytime and they'd be willing to lend a hand, or at least let me know when they could help out etc etc.

I've lost allot of faith in humans in the past years (women especially but thats another story) but the guys on the boards have let me know that there IS HOPE for compassion, empathy and jest generally "giving a fark about people and things"

Hope you all had a great holiday, I consider many of you part of my extended family
