    225 DX, what's it worth?

Found a super nice 1983 225 DX on ebay the other night and put in a bid. didn't meet the reserve and it sold for the buy it now price of $1250. On a whim, I emailed the seller and said if the deal fell through for any reason to give me a call and let me know because i would be interested. As far as I can tell from the pictures, it has been taken care of fairly well and loks to be in great shape. Even has what I think are all original tires with plenty of tread left. Also has front and rear racks, and some type of nerf bars/ foot guards that look stock. I'll try and post a couple pics, but wanted an informed opinion on what it might be worth before I go look at it and pull the trigger. Thanks for the help

It's been said many times on here, it's worth what somebody is willing to pay. Personally I would pay $1250 for that trike, but maybe you can offer less.

Looks nice for the price. I like the footguards as well. That angled rear rack looks a bit goofy or is that how they all are? I'm not familiar with the Yamahas.

I don't think that's the correct rack (not mine).

Not sure if the rack is factory, but was wondering if the grab bar is bent and causing it to sit at that angle? Is it only attached to the grab bar or do they go through the fender as well? Monroe mike, I see yours goes through the fender but from the pics of the one I am looking at it is hard to tell. Maybe it is an aftermarket piece that only attaches to the grab bar. And Tecate50, that is pretty much the plan Worst he can do is say no thanks. Talked to him earlier and he said some guy from Israel won it in the auction and has zero feedback. He isn't going to wait on him after multiple attempts to contact him and said it's mine for the taking if I decide to buy it. If I come home with another trike saturday evening, I'll try and post some pics

    85 225dxs

Got a great deal myself on Craigs list, two original owner 1985 22dxs for 600.00 each as you can see in my profile picture. Both are all original and garage kept. Hardly ridden by older male and female. Right place at the right time.

Looks like I am the proud new owner of said 225DX Paid a little more than I wanted to at $1050 but that was the absolute bottom dollar they would go to. I feel pretty comfortable with that, only $100-200 more than I wanted to pay but think I still got a good deal. Plus I could sell the racks or something and make the money back

I haven't had alot of time to look it over completely but the rear rack just bolts to the grab bar, no holes through the fender. The nerf bar/foot guards aren't too bad, not sure if they are a stock item but were definitely made for it. Runs good, shifts good, could probably stand to have the carb cleaned and everything adjusted. Battery needs charged. Plastics look really good, maybe just a good polish and need to find a new set of decals to look perfect. Only real flaw is the petcock drips a little bit but that's a pretty easy fix. Also there is no core in the silencer. Doesn't sound horrible but pretty loud.

Anyways, probably going to try and change the oil and other maintenance stuff tommorow and ride it for a bit and see how I like it. I love my 200K and Tri-Z
