1980 Tri Moto 125 Chain Problem

I am trying to get the chain back on the ride. The chain I had was a 29 link chain. It seems to be one link short. The chain tensioner was not on. The yamaha dealer told me the book shows a 60 link chain is what goes on it. I went ahead and bought the chain and when there is 30 links it seems way to long even with the tensioner. Looking at the rear end it doesn't look like it goes forward or back. Can anyone clue me in? Thanks Coop

I confused on exactly what is going on but the stock chain should be sixty links just like the dealer said and do you have the stock chain tensioner in the right position?

Here's a link to get a manual for your trike, Its nice to have.

I figured the sprocket on the tensioner would face toward the front. I can almost wrap the the chain around the sprockets twice. Would you happen have a pic of what stock should look like? I will get pics posted as soon as possible. Running to dinner with the wife and new baby girl. Thanks Coop

Here are the pics. This is the 60 link chain. Clearly way to long. I measured it and it comes out to 29 1/2 links. How are other 125's set up to run a 60 link chain?Click image for larger version.

On the 80 and 81 yt125, you do have adjustment in the rear bearing carrier. You have 3 bolts that hold the rear bearing carrier to the frame. Once you loosen those 3 bolts, the bearing carrier has some adjustment back and forth if you need it.
