1984 200s throttle problem

I'm having trouble with the throttle hanging up on me. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it's the routing of the cable. I stretched the throttle body spring in the carb a bit to give more resistance on throttle return with no avail. I know it's not the cable itself because it gives no problems at all when i swap it out and put it on my 185s. Does anyone know the correct way to pass the cable according to specs, it doesn't say in the repair manual I have. On the 185s I have there's a split in the backbone of the frame to pass the cable but the 200s frame is slightly different.
