1984 honda fourtrax 250 work with 250sx?

hey im doing a trade tomorow. i am giving the guy a stihl chainsaw runs but needs work for his 1984 fourtrax. i am just wondering if the engine is the same or will fit in a 250sx. the atv runs fine electric start works. no plastic at all. - thanks

I think they are the same engine, but don't quote me on that. You really cant go wrong with picking up the fourtrax (for a good price), they are good machines anyway's.

If it's a 84, it's a 200.

The 250 came out in 85.

no joke thats what i thought. i asked the guy but he keeps telling me its a 250. i was thinking this because its electric start only. can you pop start these? thanks

should have a kick start as well or it might just be removed

Have him give you the VIN from the frame. Will be on the front of the frame between the front tires for either model. Once you have that go here: http://decodemyvin.webs.com

There is a 200SX quad...but I don't believe it was made in '84.

200sx came out in 86.

Use Rob's VIN decoder, as he suggested.

84 trx200 is the same as the 84 big red 200 shaft drive i belive. i think its totaly different that the Atc 250sx. if its a 85-87 trx250 it should work in a Atc 250sx.
