Worked pretty good , guess I needed to be right in middle of it to go perfectly but hard to find where mid was, don t forget to drain tank completely and let air out a day or so SPARKS = BAD DAY

why can you hit a tank with a blast of air to get a round dent out? i always wondered if it would work.
I dunna , thought of that but dont want to weak any seams or what not if there is an issue, thought of that dry ice trick too but no go, the pics are pretty accurate but except for the eagle eye group here I doubt anyone really notice its a good trick, I will work a bit more at it but the bulk of the dint is gone, just can t squeeze to hard on the vise grip or you will get a dimple. Also will be going to the camo cover still leary on that though cause I like the twin red heads but I think camo is unique plus rear fender have crack that was repaired.
looks good to me
you leave the tag on that vise grip so's you could return it? lol j/k... cool trick!
You are sharing my trick with everyone????? Did this on my BR tank before I got it painted. Its not a perfect fix, but will take the big mess out of the tank.... Make sure to use the padded vise grips....

Air will work sometimes. But i've always heard to fill ti full of water and stick in freezer. Water expands when frozen so it should pop a dent out. When I go to rebuild my 200M I'm gonna try it because the tanks pretty beat anyways.

That worked pretty good.
Lol ya credit to Thorpe on that idea , i remember the post but not who said it, ordered new Miaer (spell) rear fenders today just cause I hate the crack repair look. I wonder anyone order these before and should I have added the trunk lid or will match be good ?
I have the maier fenders on my BR, and got the maier trunk lid too... The original trunk lid didnt match at all, but my original plastic had some suntan to them. (I have all maier plastic, and had my tank and side covers painted to match the maier red exactly)

Ya just VISE GRIP brand they were 50 bucks,....... were,.......
so Thorpe you saying the Miaer fenders dont match that great then eh! o well I am tempted to add the trunk cover for 50 bucks but, mine is still pretty nice and my bikes always inside so the red is pretty rich. Plus just bought a great trailer today to hold the two reds so wife shutting down my spending......till I see a mint 87 come along.hehe
My BR was pretty sun beat, so I didnt have any decent red left to compare too...
