ATC 110 Valve & Filter Question

Hey guys, new member here. Awesome forum by the way! I just got into three wheelers as I traded a guy for an '85 ATC 110 locally. Had a 70 as a kid, but didn't do much tinkering with it. I am trying to get the 110 running right. What is the correct valve lash, I keep hearing .003-.005? I've read two different manuals suggesting one or the other. What do you guys recommend? Also I have a new OEM Honda air filter element and didn't know if I needed to oil it or not? Should I soak it in 80w90 Gear Oil and dry it out?
